About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform electrical engineering duties for evaluation, design, and documentation of electrical systems for federal projects
- Design power distribution, lighting, grounding, and related building systems
- Apply electrical engineering techniques and procedures to develop constructible, code-compliant designs
- Prepare electrical calculations, drawings, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates
- Coordinate project documents and track scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables
- Coordinate electrical design elements with other engineering disciplines and internal project teams
- Communicate project development and progress with project managers, federal clients, contractors, and consultants
- Perform process design calculations, analyze engineering data, and support feasibility evaluations
- Maintain project information and documentation in project management systems
- Diagnose and help resolve technical design issues
- Support quality assurance and quality control processes
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to less experienced engineers or technical staff as assigned
- Travel to project sites and participate in project charrettes, design reviews, and value engineering conferences
Requirements
What you’ll need- Licensed Electrical Engineer
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (listed under Preferred Qualifications)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders
- Problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, federal standards, and regulatory requirements
- Advanced mathematical and analytical abilities related to electrical engineering design
- Working knowledge of design tools and technologies such as AutoCAD and Revit
- Ability to travel and participate in project charrettes, design reviews, and value engineering conferences
- Ability to travel to project sites and work in varying terrain and weather conditions
