About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare planning and design documents in the appropriate engineering discipline
- Perform process design calculations, prepare cost estimates, and use economic analyses to compare alternatives
- Assist with or develop project scopes of work and project schedules
- Assist with initiation paperwork, budget reviews, and progress reports
- Coordinate projects with other Olsson teams and coordinate design aspects
- Direct team members on design tasks
- Maintain project records, including correspondence, drawings, and files
- Inform project managers of progress and problems
- Coordinate with clients and attend client meetings
- Assist with marketing and business development; help write proposals
- Serve as project manager on small projects when needed
- Independently perform assignments on complex projects
- Coordinate professional and technical staff work; supervise student or technical staff when needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- 6 or more years of related Civil Engineering experience
- Must be a registered Professional Engineer
- Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, and regulatory approvals
- Working knowledge of Civil 3D
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team
- Ability to travel for in-office activities, client visits, and site visits as needed
