About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Create fiber-to-the-home designs
Size serving boundaries using GIS address data
Analyze, interpret, and organize large datasets
Determine feeder routes, distribution routes, and drops to premises using parcel, right-of-way, and easement documentation
Determine fiber allocations
Review field staking sheets, as-builts, and field-collected data to determine optimal running lines and construction methods
Analyze aerial imagery and general maps to identify existing utilities or potential obstructions
Produce and review high-quality constructible plan sets using GIS-based software

Requirements

What you’ll need

Ability to read, interpret, and create maps and plan sets
Ability to edit and create PDF documents using Bluebeam or Adobe
Associate’s/bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
General knowledge of OSP construction methods and best practices
3–6 years of FTTH design and/or OSP experience
General knowledge of FTTH and/or OSP networks is required
Knowledge of Google Earth KMZ files
Knowledge of AutoCAD-based software is preferred
Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS software products is preferred
Knowledge of asset management platforms such as IQGEO, NetDesigner, or CrescentLink is preferred
