About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide strategic leadership for the account and agency
- Develop strategic recommendations for clients
- Partner with account and creative leadership
- Lead cross-functional integrated strategy and idea generation
- Translate client, market, and consumer information into clear strategic direction
- Develop and lead compelling client presentations
- Maintain strategic vision and identify impactful opportunities for clients
- Convert data and observations into actionable insights
- Maintain relationships with senior and executive agency staff
- Communicate project status and identify organic growth potential
- Manage and mentor a team of 4–5 planners
- Mentor junior team members and support career development
- Contribute to new business initiatives
- Determine research objectives and create actionable learning agendas
- Supervise research proposals and vendor selection
- Lead analysts and strategists on research and strategy projects
- Oversee target audience creation and insight development
- Present thought leadership on trends and current events
- Manage brief writing and integrated team kickoffs
- Provide input and feedback on briefs and strategy presentations
- Ensure clarity of messaging and action items
- Advise strategists on creative briefings
- Partner with senior team leaders to develop and refine creative ideas and campaigns
- Elevate creative output through collaboration with creative and consumer engagement teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- A bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on psychology, sociology, anthropology, advertising, or related field or strong relevant experience
- A minimum of 10+ years of planning or related business experience at a creative agency or working on creative brands
- Proven ability to work in partnership with senior clients and creative teams
- Significant quantitative and qualitative research experience, including tracking studies, focus groups, in-depth interviews, and ethnographic research
- Ability to see and adapt insights
- Proven ability to work quickly and efficiently, meet deadlines, and set realistic expectations with agency teams
- Expert knowledge of Keynote, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience working with Simmons/MRI and syndicated research partners
