About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Edit LLM-generated drafts into polished, natural Japanese
- Write high-quality long-form content in Japanese across B2B, SaaS, and technical topics
- Fact-check and verify claims, statistics, and sources
- Research client products, target audiences, and industry context
- Localize content for Japanese readers
- Use internal briefs to structure and outline articles
- Incorporate keywords and AEO/SEO best practices
- Adapt writing style and tone to different client brands, including appropriate keigo
- Collaborate with Japan and EU editorial teams and communicate with the Editorial Strategist
- Attend occasional internal and client team meetings
- Meet deadlines and communicate proactively about progress, questions, and blockers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Native Japanese speaker with native-level written fluency
- 2–3 years of experience editing and/or writing content for marketing, SEO, or B2B brands
- Comfortable working with AI-generated content
- Professionally proficient in English
- Strong grasp of Japanese grammar, style conventions, and consistency
- Ability to simplify complex information into clear, actionable content
- Familiarity with SEO fundamentals
- Ability to write for technical practitioners and business decision-makers
- Organized and self-motivated; able to manage workload, meet deadlines, and juggle assignments
- Open to feedback and collaborative
- Submit 3–5 samples of written or edited content in Japanese, including at least 2 focused on B2B, SaaS, or technical topics
- Must not subcontract work
- A degree in journalism, Japanese language or literature, linguistics, translation, creative writing, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required
