About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform weekly and monthly radiation measurements and yearly calibration on all treatment units
  • Monitor Radiation Oncology Department equipment to ensure it functions correctly and safely
  • Maintain regulatory agency records and reports
  • Analyze alternative treatment plans
  • Supervise dosimetry treatment planning functions
  • Implement assessment, treatment, and care based on patient developmental stages
  • Perform additional duties as needed
  • Support clinics in St. Louis, Missouri and surrounding areas
  • Collaborate with physicists, dosimetrists, and physicians

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s Degree and/or PhD in Medical Physics
  • Board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Medical Physics, or board eligibility demonstrated by graduation from a CAMPEP accredited residency in therapy physics
  • 2+ years of clinical Therapy Medical Physics experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret regulations
  • Willingness to go “above and beyond” for clients and colleagues
  • Initiative, organization, and ownership of daily tasks and projects
  • Ability to problem solve by seeking, developing, and implementing viable solutions
  • Ability to use and move equipment
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, stop, lift, and carry
  • Ability to work with exposure to radiation, communicable diseases, and other conditions common to a radiation therapy setting
  • Occasional evening or weekend work
