About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support capital growth and maintenance capital projects across ONEOK's Natural Gas Liquids segment
- Manage projects from conception through completion
- Perform engineering design, environmental permitting, right-of-way acquisition, materials specification and procurement, contractor management, construction oversight, and overall project execution
- Support DOT 195 pipeline and facility projects or PSM NGL fractionation and storage projects
- Direct and perform engineering and project management activities for company assets, including pipeline systems, measurement and regulation facilities, compressor and pump stations, dehydration plants, NGL fractionation, processing, and storage facilities
- Manage third-party contract resources
- Provide technical and engineering assistance for equipment/system design, pipeline sizing, pipeline control, facility design, construction, operation, maintenance, policies, procedures, and process safety
- Perform project management activities including bid proposals, contracts, AFE preparation, cost management, MOC, specifications, construction plans, schedules, progress reports, and change orders
- Identify equipment efficiencies, complete hydraulic calculations, determine valve and pipeline sizing, and perform gas flow analysis
- Research, analyze, prepare, and approve engineering studies, regulations, codes, standards, system analyses, proposals, contracts, cost estimates, and material specifications
- Recommend improvements related to capacity, operating costs, system operation, and measurement accuracy
- Evaluate proposed projects through load studies and economic analysis
- Identify opportunities for improvement and develop and implement new processes with limited supervision
- Anticipate changing work demands and identify assignments or training
- Oversee manpower and equipment resource utilization
- Assess, schedule, and prioritize projects based on customer needs and organizational value
- May oversee employees engaged in field operations, construction, and/or project management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or closely related field
- Seven or more years of experience in engineering, operations and/or project management typically required at this level
- Experience and knowledge of engineering design and criteria for natural gas and/or NGLs in pipeline systems
- Experience with pipelines or hydrocarbon processing and related facilities design, construction, operation, and maintenance
- Experience with DOT 195 pipeline work, PSM NGL fractionation and storage projects, B31.3 knowledge, and five or more years of project management experience preferred
- Experience achieving goals and developing employee/team strengths
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Project, Access, Word, and similar applications
- Experience preparing project materials, design specifications, contracts, agreements, budgets, engineering studies, reports, forms, and correspondence
- Experience identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing operational problems and coordinating appropriate responses
- Knowledge of material failure, structural analysis, industry standards, and governmental regulations
- Ability to read and interpret regulations, blueprints, contracts, manuals, specifications, surveys, charts, and load studies
- Ability to analyze and resolve engineering design and calculation issues
- Ability to review complex engineering drawings and materials
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments with competing deadlines
- Ability to plan and organize projects through completion
- Ability to apply mathematics, algebraic formulas, and statistical methods
- Ability to interact, negotiate, advise, and communicate effectively
