About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform specialized engineering and/or project management duties related to pipeline system planning and analysis, gathering system operations, gas and liquids measurement, processing, storage, and construction projects
  • Direct, perform, coordinate, and approve engineering and project management activities for company assets, including transmission and gathering systems, measurement facilities, compressor and pump stations, dehydration plants, processing facilities, and storage facilities
  • Provide technical and engineering assistance on equipment and system design, pipeline sizing and evaluation, pipeline control, facility design, construction, operation, maintenance, policies, procedures, and process safety
  • Direct, perform, review, and approve project management activities including bid proposals, contracts, AFE preparation, cost management, MOC, material specifications, construction plans, schedules, progress reports, and change orders
  • Review engineering work involving equipment efficiencies, hydraulic calculations, valve and pipe sizing, and gas flow analysis
  • Research, analyze, prepare, and approve engineering studies, regulations, codes, standards, pipeline and measurement system analyses, bid proposals, contracts, cost estimates, and material selections
  • Oversee analysis and evaluation of pipeline systems and recommendations for capacity, operating costs, and system operation improvements
  • Act as a subject matter expert and mentor less experienced engineers
  • Evaluate proposed projects through load studies
  • Review and create standard drawings for measurement system designs and recommend improvements to station capacity, operating costs, measurement accuracy, and downstream reporting
  • Conduct economic analyses for potential projects, including operational cost estimates, equipment efficiencies, enhancements, and acquisition studies
  • Recommend and implement new processes
  • Anticipate changing work demands and identify assignments or training needs
  • Oversee utilization of manpower and equipment resources
  • Assess, schedule, and prioritize projects based on customer needs and organizational value
  • May oversee employees in field operations, construction, and/or project management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or closely related field
  • Ten or more years of experience in engineering, operations and/or project management typically required at this level
  • Experience and training related to transmission/gathering pipeline operations
  • Experience with gas measurement and regulation activities
  • Experience with processing and/or storage operations
  • Knowledge of company/governmental operating and safety procedures
  • Experience with pipeline stress/strain analysis
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and design philosophy
  • Experience and knowledge of engineering design and criteria for natural gas and/or NGLs in pipeline systems
  • Experience achieving goals and developing employee/team strengths
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Project, Access, Word, and similar applications
  • Experience preparing project materials, design specifications, contracts, agreements, budgets, engineering studies, reports, forms, and correspondence
  • Experience identifying, researching, evaluating, and prioritizing operational problems
  • Experience with pipelines or hydrocarbon processing and related facilities design, construction, operation, and maintenance
  • Experience with material failure and structural analysis
  • Thorough knowledge of industry standards and governmental regulations
  • Experience reading and interpreting governmental regulations, blueprints, contracts, manuals, specifications, surveys, charts, load studies, reports, and correspondence
  • Experience reviewing and approving complex engineering drawings and material
  • Knowledge of operational functions and commercial relationships
  • Ability to research, analyze, and resolve engineering design and calculation issues
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments with competing deadlines
  • Ability to identify, conceptualize, and organize projects to completion
  • Ability to apply logic, mathematics, algebraic formulas, and statistical methods
  • Ability to interact, negotiate, advise, and communicate effectively
  • Ability to operate required office tools and equipment
  • No licenses or certifications required
  • Applicable driver's license may be required if assigned a company vehicle
