  • Develop tools and templates for collecting environmental compliance and remediation information
  • Manage field inspections for operating assets and construction projects
  • Provide senior-level guidance on compliance requirements and operating or construction parameters
  • Enhance compliance programs based on audit results and lead internal facility audits
  • Represent the company in evaluating and implementing minor emerging regulatory issues
  • Identify and resolve regulatory applicability issues and compliance requirements using risk-based analysis
  • Manage environmental programs for complex operating assets and construction projects
  • Develop procedures and tools to facilitate and demonstrate compliance
  • Review environmental inspection reports and resolve potential compliance issues
  • Negotiate with contractors and consultants, evaluate their performance, and recommend continued use
  • Manage permitting processes for all media from start to finish, including new construction and operating assets
  • Manage compliance systems across multiple media and participate in system development and enhancements
  • Manage and participate in agency inspections and represent the company in compliance or enforcement negotiations
  • Coordinate and facilitate environmental project permitting before, during, and after construction
  • Collect and review air, water, and waste field samples for analysis

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental, natural science, engineering preferred and/or a combination of formal education and related job experience
  • Typically 6–10 years of related experience in environmental compliance
  • Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations and standards and their applicability to operations
  • Ability to analyze, research, compile, and prepare permit applications, logs, reports, correspondence, and company responses to agency requests
  • Ability to evaluate, research, and interpret governmental regulations, equipment performance manuals, regulatory agency guidance and instructions, reports, correspondence, and company policies and procedures
  • Ability to pay attention to details
  • Ability to apply math, algebraic formulas, and statistics
  • Ability to interact, advise, communicate effectively, exchange information, provide instructions, and conduct verbal presentations
  • Ability to develop communications utilizing fundamental technical writing skills
  • Ability to present training materials
  • Ability to utilize office equipment including computers and applicable job-related software, including Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to operate tools/equipment
  • Licenses and Certifications: None required
  • Ability to travel to other locations
  • May be assigned a company vehicle requiring the applicable driver's license
