About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with or perform gas and/or liquids pipeline system operations
  • Assist with operations and maintenance at compressor stations, gas storages, dehydration facilities, pumping facilities, measurement facilities, and related equipment
  • Perform or assist with startup and shutdown, pigging, liquid collection, chart changes, tank gauging, line locating and marking, cathodic protection monitoring, leak surveys, pipeline patrolling, blowing drips, line dispatching, construction watch, and related activities
  • Monitor usage and replace lubricants, fluids, inhibitors, chemicals, and other materials as needed
  • Assist with calculations and compile or prepare gas/liquid flow and quality information, maintenance and repair logs, samples, pipeline/corrosion activity records, regulatory information, and construction inspection reports
  • Drive and ensure maintenance is complete on company vehicles
  • Monitor system performance and collect and record operational data
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations and dangerous or hazardous conditions
  • Perform DOT-covered pipeline operations, maintenance, or emergency response functions
  • Travel to other locations up to 30% within assigned geographic region(s)

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience, training and/or knowledge of company and governmental operating/safety procedures and environmental regulations
  • Knowledge of characteristics of natural gas and liquids
  • Knowledge or experience with pigging pipelines, blowing drips, gauging tanks, and collecting liquids
  • Knowledge of construction methods
  • Knowledge of cathodic protection/corrosion control activities
  • Ability to establish and prioritize assignments and complete assignments in a timely manner with supervision
  • Ability to interact, negotiate, communicate and/or exchange written and verbal information and instructions
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including computers and related software
  • Ability to apply basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to perform heavy work and lift 50 to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors under varying environmental conditions
  • Regular travel up to 30% within assigned geographic region(s)
  • Applicable driver's license may be required when assigned a company vehicle
