About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and maintain the data pipelines and infrastructure required to support analytics, reporting, and decision-making
  • Analyze data sources, define integration logic (ETL/ELT), and apply recommended design patterns
  • Develop high-performance data flows in Microsoft Fabric and structure data using appropriate data models (e.g., star and snowflake schemas)
  • Implement data quality controls and contribute to unit and integration testing to validate developments
  • Ensure the integration, security, and confidentiality of clinical and administrative data in accordance with applicable standards
  • Manage code, traceability, and deployments through Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices
  • Document solutions, share knowledge, and support the operationalization of data products
  • Collaborate with architecture, security, operations, and stakeholder teams to optimize systems and address business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Fluency in spoken and written French
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration, management, or a related field
  • Hold a specialized certification issued by a competent and recognized authority in the field of information technology
  • MIFI equivalency is required for any degree obtained outside Quebec
  • Five (5) years of experience in data engineering
  • More than four (4) years of experience in business intelligence, including three (3) years in data engineering within Quebec’s healthcare network
  • One (1) year of experience with Fabric or Databricks
  • Demonstrated active participation in at least two (2) projects involving the development of an analytics solution integrating provincial clinical information systems and healthcare institutions
  • Tools and languages: Git/GitHub, SQL, Python, Power BI
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Direct Lake, pipelines, notebooks) and Spark environments
  • Proficiency in T-SQL, DAX, and JSON formats
  • Knowledge of Azure tools/platforms (e.g., Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Data Factory) and governance/metadata tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview)
