About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work as a product engineer in the Growth team to understand customer problems, shape technical approaches with Product and Design, and ship changes improving Journey 1 outcomes
- Build and improve onboarding, acquisition funnel conversion, login, account management, card management, personal details and other customer-facing Growth features
- Own features in production by monitoring health, responding to issues, maintaining runbooks and identifying degraded journeys
- Take first-pass ownership of bugs and support queries in Journey 1, fixing owned issues and handing over diagnosed issues to other service owners
- Contribute across onboarding, biometrics, APR, CLM, legal service, alert service, app and website front end
- Build changes under another team’s contributor rules when extending services owned by that team
- Use data and product context to connect technical work to conversion, utilisation, reliability and fraud / ID-failure outcomes
- Write clean, tested, maintainable code and documentation
- Collaborate with engineers, Product, Design, QA and business owners, bringing technical options early
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience as a product-minded backend, frontend or full-stack engineer building and running production systems
- Strong Node.js / TypeScript experience, ideally with AWS and event-driven or serverless architectures
- Experience building customer-facing web or app features, preferably with React Native / Expo / React / Next.js or similar modern frontend frameworks
- Good understanding of Infrastructure as code with Terraform; CI/CD as a habit
- A track record of using testing, monitoring, documentation and code review to raise quality around you
- Ability to write clean, tested, maintainable code and leave systems more understandable than you found them
