About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform hydrocarbon fugitive emission and/or leak detection at Oil and Gas Industry facilities in the field
  • Work with technologies used to detect and measure methane gas emissions
  • Assist in coordinating and navigating to facilities using maps and GPS
  • Help calibrate and maintain equipment
  • Use detection and measurement technologies under Team Lead supervision
  • Collect and record emission data
  • Prepare field reports as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience in Oil and Gas industry
  • Natural gas processing/transmission facility experience preferred
  • Effective computer skills
  • Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Proficiency with Android OS
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts (days only)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering technology or applicable technical degree/diploma preferred, but not required
  • Related work experience in hydrocarbon detection and measurement, LDAR, instrumentation or stack emission testing preferred, but not required
  • Mechanical background preferred, but not required
  • Ability to walk and/or stand while handling/carrying technical equipment for extended periods
  • Comfortable occasionally working at heights safely
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted
  • Comfortable working outside in all-weather elements
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Willingness to travel
