About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design content that helps users complete their goals
- Work with user researchers, interaction designers, and other user-centred design specialists to solve complex client problems
- Create content based on user research insights and data
- Apply best-practice content design principles
- Make complex ideas and processes easy to understand
- Ensure work complies with Opencast’s quality, environmental, and information security policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with applicable customer policies, standards, and procedures while working on client engagements
- Present a relevant piece of work during the interview
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience designing content to meet user needs
- Experience using content design to make complex ideas and processes easy to understand
- Experience planning and writing content to meet evidenced user needs
- Experience ensuring work is inclusive and accessible
- Experience taking a supportive role in user research to test content
- Experience applying a style guide
- Methodical and considered approach to solving content problems
- Ability to plan own tasks to achieve project objectives
- Ability to respectfully challenge decisions or solutions
- Active Security Check (SC) clearance, or eligibility and willingness to undergo the clearance process
- Typically, UK citizenship and continuous residence in the UK for at least the past five years, with no single absence exceeding 28 consecutive days, for SC vetting eligibility
- Ability to work weekly on-site and travel regularly to client locations across the UK
- Ability to travel to offices and client sites across the UK as part of normal working arrangements
- Desirable: experience designing to UK government service standards
- Desirable: experience with the Government Digital Service assessment process
- Desirable: experience using prototyping tools
- Desirable: experience working in agile delivery teams
- Desirable: information architecture experience
- Desirable: experience planning and facilitating workshops
- Ability to present a piece of work demonstrating relevant experience during the interview
