Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop Python applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Take responsibility for components delivered through production
  • Integrate commercial off-the-shelf products with in-house frameworks
  • Build internal and external API connections
  • Build data and document pipelines that automate manual, paper-based work
  • Design, develop, and implement Python-based enterprise solutions meeting client requirements
  • Support quality development practices, including test-driven development and automated testing
  • Deliver tested, working code through production, including finding and fixing defects
  • Automate business operations that replace manual checks, validations, and spreadsheet workflows
  • Build deployment pipelines that make releasing services routine
  • Work alongside developers, engineers, data scientists, architects, and strategists
  • Adapt development workflows as AI tools evolve while reviewing and testing generated output

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years of software development experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Familiarity with cloud development on Amazon Web Services (AWS), including AWS Lambda and Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3)
  • Ability to turn a defined specification into working, tested code and own it through to production, using object-oriented design, design patterns, and data modeling
  • Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle
  • Experience working with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience delivering within an Agile framework such as Scrum or Kanban, using an issue tracker such as Jira
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact directly with non-technical client stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Proficiency in creating accurate estimates for assigned tasks and work efforts
  • Proficiency in writing, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Initial engagement requires United States citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust determination
  • Preferred: hands-on delivery of production workloads on AWS, an AWS certification, or a Python certification
  • Preferred: federal information technology experience
  • Preferred: experience working in a client-facing consulting environment
  • Preferred: familiarity with AI-assisted developer tooling
  • Preferred: familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
