About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the technical design and delivery of a defined application or solution area
  • Design how application or solution components fit together and guide implementation
  • Build cloud-native systems whose automated operation replaces manual processes
  • Build and maintain delivery pipelines and automated tests
  • Set development patterns assisted by artificial intelligence tools such as Amazon Q Developer
  • Lead design, development, and implementation of Python-based enterprise solutions meeting client requirements
  • Lead quality practices including test-driven development, code reviews, and application security standards
  • Develop project estimates and support project planning, delivery forecasting, and resource allocation
  • Deliver integrated solutions with consistent quality across components
  • Automate validations and workflows previously managed in spreadsheets
  • Develop surrounding developers through code review, explanations, and work standards
  • Collaborate with developers, engineers, data scientists, architects, and strategists across client assignments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of software development experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud-native development on Amazon Web Services (AWS), including AWS Lambda, Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS), and Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)
  • Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle
  • Strong experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or DynamoDB
  • Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming, software architecture, design patterns, database design, data modeling, and distributed systems
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience leading delivery within an Agile framework such as Scrum or Kanban, using an issue tracker such as Jira
  • Experience with AI-assisted developer tooling, such as Amazon Q Developer or GitHub Copilot
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a development team and mentor developers
  • Excellent communication skills with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams
  • Proficiency in writing, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Preferred: An Amazon Web Services certification or a Python certification
  • Preferred: Federal information technology experience
  • Preferred: Experience in a client-facing consulting environment leading technical delivery teams
  • Preferred: Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps best practices
  • Initial engagement requires United States citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust determination
