Key responsibilities & impact

Own the technical design and delivery of a defined application or solution area
Design how application or solution components fit together and guide implementation
Build cloud-native systems whose automated operation replaces manual processes
Build and maintain delivery pipelines and automated tests
Establish development patterns assisted by artificial intelligence tools such as Amazon Q Developer
Carry integrated solutions through production
Automate validations and workflows previously managed in spreadsheets
Improve surrounding developers through code review, explaining reasoning, and setting quality standards
Choose among competing solution approaches and resolve design tradeoffs across components
Explain technical work clearly to stakeholders and listen to their needs
Adapt development workflows as AI tools evolve while reviewing and testing generated output
Work alongside developers, engineers, data scientists, architects, and strategists across strategy and implementation assignments

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least seven years of software development experience
Bachelor's degree
Expert-level command of Python
Strong hands-on experience with cloud-native development on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Proficiency with modern languages and frameworks
Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
Experience with automated testing and secure coding
Ability to own the technical design and delivery of an application or solution area, including component design, integration, and delivery through production
Basic proficiency in writing, PowerPoint, and Excel
Initial engagement requires United States citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination
Preferred: An Amazon Web Services certification
Preferred: Serverless and event-driven development experience
Preferred: Federal information technology experience
Preferred: Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tooling
