About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and maintain features across the OpenNebula web interface, primarily focusing on front-end development while contributing to back-end components when needed
Own implementation of new features from development through testing, documentation, and delivery
Write well-tested, maintainable code with strong test coverage and focus on long-term software quality
Troubleshoot and solve development issues across the front-end/back-end boundary in Linux-based environments
Produce clear and concise technical documentation
Explain developments and technical decisions to the team
Proactively propose ideas and improvements to the product, codebase, and development practices
Collaborate closely with other developers and contribute beyond a single layer of the stack as priorities evolve
Help develop the OpenNebula open-source cloud management platform and its strategic edge-computing project

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering
3+ years of professional software development experience in real production environments, with experience beyond purely front-end work
Hands-on experience developing web applications across both front-end and back-end components
Experience developing and maintaining user-facing web applications in production
Experience collaborating on software projects using modern development workflows, version control, and technical documentation
Strong web development experience with React, Angular, or Vue; willingness to work primarily with React
Practical experience with Node.js, NPM, and modern JavaScript development workflows
Comfortable working independently in Linux-based development environments, such as RHEL/AlmaLinux or Ubuntu/Debian
Use of version control systems such as Git and experience with automated testing practices
Comfortable using command-line tools and troubleshooting development environments
Intermediate to Advanced English level (B2 or higher) is required
Full-stack mindset and flexibility to contribute across front-end and back-end development
Strong self-management and accountability
Clear communication skills and ability to explain developments, technical decisions, and proposals
Collaborative and pragmatic approach
Product-oriented mindset
Curiosity and adaptability to broaden knowledge into virtualization, networking, cloud infrastructure, or other parts of the OpenNebula stack
