About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the customer's technical journey with OpenObserve from pre-contract evaluation through long-term retention
- Join proofs of concept and pilots, define success criteria with account executives, and establish customer data flows
- Transition successful pilots to full production deployments, including cutovers from incumbent tools
- Configure data sources, pipelines, dashboards, and alerts while keeping projects on schedule
- Build account success plans tied to customer outcomes such as cost, incident response time, and coverage
- Track usage and customer health and act on early warning signs
- Review architecture, ingestion, retention, and query performance and provide hands-on technical guidance
- Build relationships with engineers and executives and conduct business reviews
- Own or partner with sales on renewals and identify expansion opportunities
- Coordinate support and engineering during escalations and maintain customer communication
- Bring customer feedback and patterns to product and engineering
- Create POC templates, onboarding guides, migration runbooks, and training content
- Report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years in a technical role such as software engineering, SRE, DevOps, support engineering, or solutions engineering
- Real observability experience with tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Elastic, Grafana, or New Relic
- Experience with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, OpenTelemetry, and log, metric, and trace pipelines
- Ability to write SQL
- Ability to read configuration files
- Ability to reproduce problems independently before escalating
- Understanding of the distinction between support and customer success
- High emotional intelligence
- Clear written and verbal communication with engineers and executives
- Commercial sense or willingness to develop it
- Ability to manage a portfolio of accounts and multiple evaluations and migrations simultaneously
- Comfort with ambiguity and early-stage environments
