About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise teams across the Group on customer- and supplier-side commercial arrangements, contractual risk and practical day-to-day legal questions
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts and related documents
- Develop and improve templates, playbooks and ways of working
- Take primary day-to-day responsibility for supervising OpenPayd’s OAFS matters
- Liaise with the Office of the Arbiter and represent OpenPayd at hearings where required
- Coordinate and review responses, affidavits, evidence, exhibits and other materials for OAFS proceedings
- Support supervision of complaints, claims, pre-action matters and proceedings in other jurisdictions
- Coordinate internal stakeholders and external counsel
- Identify and escalate significant legal, financial, regulatory or reputational risk
Requirements
What you’ll need- A lawyer admitted to practise in Malta, with relevant post-qualification experience gained in-house or in private practice
- Strong commercial drafting, review and negotiation skills
- Ability to give clear, practical advice in excellent written and spoken English
- Quick thinking and sound judgement
- Ability to absorb new information fast, test assumptions and stay composed when facts or priorities change
- Strategic curiosity and commercial instinct
- Energy, ownership and appetite to learn
- Strong organisational skills to manage evidence, stakeholders and fixed deadlines
