Key responsibilities & impact

Design and build agent systems that plan and execute multi-step tasks across imagery, geometry, and documents
Build retrieval and grounding over a spatially and temporally indexed site record
Design the tools an agent uses to locate components, compare captures, read drawing regions, or query BIM elements
Build evaluations for tasks with ambiguous ground truth and assess production readiness
Select frontier APIs, open-weight models, fine-tuned small models, or classical computer vision based on cost, latency, and accuracy
Make outputs traceable to supporting pixels, drawing sheets, or specification sections
Prototype quickly, discontinue ineffective approaches, and partner with platform engineers to ship successful solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need

M.S./Ph.D. in a related field or equivalent industry experience
5+ years building ML systems
At least one LLM or VLM-based system taken to production and kept running
Experience designing evaluations from scratch where ground truth is expensive, sparse, or contested
Strong multimodal fluency: vision-language models, embeddings and retrieval, context design, and fine-tuning
Python, async orchestration, tracing and cost instrumentation
Comfort with spatial data, including coordinate frames, camera poses, and projections
Judgment about what is worth automating
Post-training or reinforcement learning on agent trajectories is nice to have
Document understanding over technical drawings, specifications, or structured PDFs is nice to have
Experience with mobile capture, wearables, or field audio is nice to have
Experience in construction, robotics, geospatial, or another physical-world domain is nice to have
