About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and build sophisticated user-facing experiences for browser and consumer technology products
- Develop maintainable, performant, and scalable frontend solutions using modern web technologies
- Translate complex product and technical capabilities into intuitive user experiences
- Build interfaces for new and emerging product capabilities, including AI-powered experiences
- Solve engineering challenges related to frontend performance, responsiveness, reliability, and cross-platform behavior
- Work closely with Product, Design, backend, and other engineering teams from early concepts through production delivery
- Contribute to technical design, testing, code quality, and frontend engineering best practices
- Participate in Opera's ongoing frontend engineering talent pipeline for anticipated future hiring needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong professional frontend or software engineering experience
- Advanced JavaScript and TypeScript skills
- Strong experience with modern frontend technologies and frameworks
- Solid understanding of frontend architecture, browser APIs, performance, and modern web-development practices
- Experience delivering complex, high-quality user-facing products
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, testing, and maintainable code
- Strong product mindset and problem-solving skills
- Experience collaborating effectively with Product, Design, and other engineering teams
- Submit CV in English
- React or comparable modern frontend frameworks experience preferred
- Experience with browser features, browser extensions, or browser technologies preferred
- Experience with desktop or cross-platform applications preferred
- Experience with complex consumer-facing digital products preferred
- Experience with Chromium, browser architecture, or web-platform technologies preferred
- Experience with AI-powered interfaces or highly interactive product experiences preferred
- Frontend performance profiling, automated testing, and optimization at scale preferred
