About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee daily team operations and ensure programming aligns with project objectives
  • Lead team meetings as needed
  • Assist with expense tracking and budget monitoring
  • Support completion of the Annual Progress Report through accurate data entry and verification
  • Maintain clean and accurate student data and grant records
  • Produce program reports and maintain participant records
  • Complete expense requests and track time and effort
  • Train and supervise part-time College Access Advisors and Office Assistants
  • Provide daily oversight of the After School Program
  • Plan field trips to colleges, universities, cultural locations, and hands-on STEM activities
  • Assist students with FAFSA, college applications, and scholarship applications
  • Direct and coordinate student recruitment efforts at target schools
  • Review student applications and recommend selections to the Project Director
  • Ensure evaluation data is collected for field trips, events, and other services
  • Assist with annual Summer and Academic Year program planning
  • Report to the Program Director

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or a related field
  • Three years of experience working with disadvantaged youth in educational settings
  • Proficient knowledge of college-entry processes, including FAFSA, scholarship essay writing, and degree planning
  • Strong ability to manage details, plan and execute program events, and oversee complex tasks
  • High proficiency in technology, including social media
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods, endure strong heat and cold, climb stairs, and fly on an airplane
  • Ability to project voice and speak publicly
  • Ability to drive a vehicle, read road signs, judge distance, spend extensive hours in front of a computer screen, and listen carefully on the telephone
