About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review inspection details, notes, and photos submitted by field inspectors
- Define clear and accurate scopes of work for each job
- Confirm inspection data is complete and flag missing information or unusual site conditions
- Research current material pricing using estimating software and supplier integrations
- Determine labor costs, crew requirements, hourly rates, and subcontractor costs
- Build complete, pricing-ready estimates and proposals with materials, labor, scope, and pricing
- Apply company margins and markups to produce final customer pricing
- Review estimates for accuracy and completeness
- Deliver finalized estimates to sales and operations within agreed turnaround times
- Communicate with inspectors and salespeople regarding scope, questions, and revisions
- Maintain organized records of estimates and underlying inspection data
- Use estimating tools effectively and recommend workflow and template improvements
- Desk-based role with no site visits or customer-facing responsibilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 years of experience as an estimator in construction, remodeling, restoration, or home services
- Working knowledge of construction labor rates, hourly wages, and material costs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, email, shared drives, and messaging tools
- Exceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy when preparing estimates
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting deadlines and turnaround targets
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to work across multiple software platforms and learn new tools quickly
- Proficiency in estimating software, preferably Builder, including use of its Home Depot integration to retrieve real-time material pricing
