About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee accounting, finance, and related functions
- Build and develop accounting policies and procedures
- Oversee month-end close, including reconciliations, fluctuation analysis, and accounting issue research
- Coordinate, analyze, and report financial performance to management
- Oversee payments of all accounts
- Monitor working capital and funding balances
- Recommend benchmarks for measuring financial and operating performance
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget
- Manage preparation of financial statements and notes
- Manage external auditors
- Represent finance in identifying and implementing new systems and upgrading existing systems
- Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and investment decisions
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and principles
- Lead and manage the Federal Finance and Accounting team
- Report to the Optiv + ClearShark President with indirect reporting to Optiv Finance leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree / MBA or practical equivalent
- 10 or more years of solid accounting experience
- Knowledge of GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, including Sarbanes Oxley compliance
- 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience managing/maintaining Deltek Costpoint ERP system
- Hands-on knowledge of DCAA compliance standards, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience creating financial statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close
- Strong accounting software user and administration skills
- Experience working with senior management leadership and influencing others cross-functionally
- Experience leading and managing people and direct reports
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate leadership, creativity, and initiative
