About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Craft and deliver engagement tactics for volunteers, friends, and service partners across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand
- Shape and share operational communications, including newsletters and urgent crisis updates
- Work with internal teams to ensure localised stories are communicated while keeping the mission and values central
- Create messaging for major projects, service launches, and key awareness events
- Apply Orange Sky’s brand and tone of voice across campaigns and communications
- Manage communication platforms such as Campaign Monitor
- Manage data, uphold communication best practices, and deliver reporting
- Champion brand integrity and assist with process improvements
- Provide administrative support to keep operations running smoothly
- Report to the Marketing and Communications Specialist
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1–2 years’ experience in a marketing or communications role, or looking for a first post-university role with a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or Journalism
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt tone of voice for different audiences and strategic goals
- Stakeholder engagement skills with diverse groups, including volunteers, service partners, and friends
- Familiarity with email marketing tools, project management platforms, and design tools such as Canva
- Confidence drafting communications across a range of channels and occasions
- Great attention to detail
- Proactive, collaborative team-player mindset
- Genuine energy, empathy, and passion for Orange Sky’s mission
- Openness to feedback and eagerness to learn
- Not-for-profit experience is advantageous but not essential
- Successful candidate must undergo a standard background and criminal record check before commencement
