About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the autonomy runtime, including ROS2 and modern C++ architecture, module lifecycle, orchestration, state management, data flow, configuration, fault handling, and recovery
- Implement World Model ingestion and Vehicle Interface adapters to platform control systems
- Own deployment to vessel compute, including builds, packaging, versioning, configuration management, and CI
- Work with system engineering and field teams on vessel bring-up, sea trials, and field debugging
- Build logging, recording, replay, and observability capabilities to reproduce sea runs on a desk
- Integrate and operate the software-in-the-loop simulation environment
- Own stack reliability, timing, and performance on embedded hardware
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of software engineering experience in robotics or autonomous systems
- Deep ROS2 knowledge
- Modern C++ proficiency
- Experience with real-time and concurrent systems
- Proven experience building infrastructure around autonomy
- Hands-on integration with vehicle platforms or low-level control interfaces
- Experience with simulation integration and automated testing for robotics
- Field-oriented mindset
- Nice-to-have: maritime platforms, marine autopilots, NMEA/AIS/radar interfaces
- Nice-to-have: experience making an autonomy stack portable across multiple vehicle platforms
- Nice-to-have: HIL bench design and hardware-in-the-loop validation
- Nice-to-have: observability and data tooling for robotics
- Nice-to-have: defense or regulated-program experience
