About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the buying experience and product decisions shaping marketplace economics
  • Lead product work across catalog quality, supplier coverage, sourcing intelligence, and fulfillment reliability
  • Partner with Marketplace and vendor operations
  • Measure Buy product changes' contribution to purchasing volume, margin, and cost-to-serve
  • Establish PM ownership across catalog and search, sourcing and fulfillment, and the vendor network
  • Build and develop a product team as staffing and delivery capacity permit
  • Own catalog, search, product discovery, sourcing, substitution, cart construction, order placement, fulfillment, and order tracking
  • Improve experiences for multi-location customers
  • Prioritize catalog coverage and quality gaps
  • Develop product levers influencing marketplace margin and fulfillment costs
  • Reduce supplier onboarding effort and cost per supplier through product and automation changes
  • Improve manual vendor workflows, portal automation, and exception handling
  • Define product strategy and requirements for order transmission, supplier portals, catalog feeds, and EDI connections
  • Partner with Engineering on integrations to build, automate, improve, or retire
  • Evaluate AI-assisted catalog enrichment, cart optimization, sourcing recommendations, substitutions, and reordering
  • Defend automation investments against measurable margin, coverage, reliability, or cost-to-serve outcomes
  • Recommend Buy packaging, entitlement, and adoption strategy
  • Partner with the CTO, Revenue, and Finance on packaging and pricing decisions
  • Shape Buy-side mechanics supporting expansion into Govern and Pay
  • Use market and customer intelligence, competitive action, win/loss evidence, and customer research to build a ranked opportunity backlog
  • Lead discovery and validation before committing significant capacity
  • Build an evidence-backed roadmap and business-case input for the CTO portfolio process
  • Present a monthly outcome review defending scale, improve, or stop decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Substantial product management experience with meaningful time in marketplaces, e-commerce, catalog or search products, supply chain, or B2B commerce
  • Experience managing product managers, or clear readiness to step into people leadership with support
  • Demonstrated ownership of a business metric, not only a roadmap
  • Fluency in marketplace economics: purchasing volume, margin, supply coverage, and cost-to-serve
  • Strong analytical capability
  • Comfortable with data, defining instrumentation before launch, and forming and testing hypotheses
  • Experience working closely with operations teams
  • Clear written communication and ability to make a case to an executive audience in a page
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward validated action over extended analysis
