About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a point of contact for the agency’s multifamily housing portfolios
- Review, analyze, and evaluate audited financial statements and other financial reporting
- Protect the agency’s investment and manage the integrity and consistency of financial reporting
- Ensure properties remain viable long term and meet regulatory compliance requirements
- Ensure project operations comply with restrictive documentation agreed to at closing and applicable state and federal regulations
- Evaluate the health of the agency’s multifamily portfolio to minimize risk
- Enhance community collaboration and assist in operating sustainable multifamily housing communities throughout the affordability period
- Support financial reporting, data integrity, portfolio viability and health, compliance, and risk monitoring
- Provide management and leadership with portfolio performance visibility for trend analysis and data-driven decisions
- Coordinate asset analysis and preservation functions across multiple programs
- Coordinate agency preservation efforts for Publicly Supported Housing and assist with asset management issues for properties seeking or securing agency funding
Requirements
What you’ll need- Five years’ experience in preparing or analyzing residential, commercial, or public sector loan applications using cash flow, financial statements, historical and annual operation analyses, including collections and foreclosure procedures; or processing real estate transactions; or marketing, analyzing, servicing, or underwriting loans; or economic or community development
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field may substitute for three years of experience
- An Associate's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, or related field may substitute for 18 months of experience
- Knowledge of affordable rental housing programming
- Understanding of practical application of accounting principles
- Exposure to regulatory requirements for housing funding sources
- Experience with regulatory requirements for housing funding sources
- Knowledge of affordable rental housing programming and compliance practices
- Understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Ability to understand and analyze financial statements
- Ability to work independently and make workload decisions while contributing to a team
- Ability to communicate effectively, cultivate partnerships, and achieve consensus
- Strong analytical skills with emphasis on financial risk identification
- Awareness of race and social justice, including ability to positively influence equity, diversity, and inclusion
