About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently lead full-cycle recruitments
- Develop job announcements and post advertisements
- Review applications and participate on interview panels
- Deliver customer service to candidates and hiring managers
- Represent the agency at career fairs and networking events
- Engage community partners and professional networks to identify recruitment opportunities
- Promote agency values and broaden talent sourcing channels
- Maintain and process HR actions and personnel records in Workday
- Process hiring, compensation, and training actions while ensuring accurate and compliant data
- Coordinate and facilitate new-hire onboarding and orientations
- Ensure onboarding compliance with organizational policies
- Support employees during their transition into the workplace
- Answer employee questions about Workday tasks, salary increases, performance appraisals, and related matters
- Create a welcoming, friendly, and open environment for staff
- Support employee relations, grievance resolution, return-to-work programs, performance management, training, and affirmative action initiatives as part of the HR team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Organizational Behavior or Development, Business or Public Administration, the Applied Behavioral Sciences, Industrial Relations or a job-related course of study determined by the appointing authority; OR valid Professional in Human Resource certification and one year of Human Resource experience; OR three years of Human Resource paraprofessional or technical-level experience
- State Certified Human Resources Professional (SCHRP) certification substitutes for six months of human resource professional-level experience
- Valid SHRM Certified Professional certification substitutes for one year of professional human resources experience
- Valid PSHRA-CP certification substitutes for one year of professional human resources experience
- Experience conducting full-cycle recruitments
- Experience with drafting job announcements, posting advertisements, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, preparing interview materials, interviewing candidates, and coaching hiring managers
- Experience representing an agency at career fairs, mock interviews, Say Hey events, and community engagement activities
- Experience completing HR-related actions in Workday
- Strong technical skills and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology
- Experience working within cross-functional teams and supporting colleagues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Exceptional ability and experience maintaining confidentiality
- Current resume required
- Authorization to work in the United States required; Business Oregon does not offer visa sponsorship
- Successful criminal background check required
