About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as Human Resources Deputy Director
- Provide leadership, management, and supervision to administer the Human Resources team
- Advise the HR Director and agency leadership
- Provide HR services aligned with strategic human resource management
- Ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective workforce operations
- Foster a productive, diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace
- Provide agency-wide consultation and oversight for personnel administration, HR programs, organizational development, and strategic workforce planning
Requirements
What you’ll need- Six years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience
- OR three years of related experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience with 8–10 years of practical, hands-on human resources experience is desired
- At least five years at management level directing HR teams and advancing organizational HR strategy
- Experience in labor relations, collective bargaining, and contract administration
- Background advising executive leadership and program managers on strategic planning, policy direction, compliance, and workforce management
- Current knowledge of employee laws and HR best practices
- Background in classification, compensation, talent acquisition, and HR information technology
- Knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations
- Ability to manage an HR budget and monitor expenditures
- Experience promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and practices
