About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Exercise full supervisory authority over a small team of paraprofessionals, including one subordinate supervisor
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, promotion, performance management, coaching, and discipline
- Collaborate with Trial Division leadership to resolve employee grievances
- Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and operational improvements related to eDiscovery and eDiscovery platforms
- Identify improvement opportunities and lead eDiscovery change to support Trial Division goals
- Identify training needs, coordinate or deliver development opportunities, and contribute to eDiscovery training programs
- Participate in legal case staffing with attorneys and legal teams
- Review paraprofessional work for accuracy and compliance
- Ensure documentation, evidence, and exhibits meet legal standards
- Adjust workloads within the assigned unit
- Review paraprofessional billing, invoices, and eDiscovery contracts for accuracy and compliance
- Compile data, prepare management-requested reports, and recommend fiscal and resource allocations
- Participate directly in paraprofessional work during peak workloads, staff shortages, or urgent operational demands
- Assist with complex or sensitive tasks requiring higher-level coordination or problem-solving
- Perform other duties supporting the Trial Division’s effectiveness and emerging projects
- Develop and implement affirmative action plans and foster respectful, inclusive work environments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Five years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience; OR two years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Have and maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license
- Preference may be given to those with two years of experience as a high-level legal support professional
- Knowledge and experience with eDiscovery
- Experience providing leadership to both supervisory and represented employees
- Experience implementing change within an organization
- Direct high-level management or supervision of legal support professionals
- Experience revising and implementing policy and procedure
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization effectively and professionally
- Professional experience working collaboratively with a team
- Experience assessing and coaching individuals to meet production and work quality goals
- Experience collaborating, teambuilding, troubleshooting, and finding solutions to operational needs in a team environment
- Proficiency in the use of computer software including Microsoft Office
- Experience providing accuracy and attention to detail in work performance
- Commitment to the highest standards of professional conduct and ethics
