About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide ongoing evaluation, competency review, personalized training, and in-service training to NFSU staff
- Help ensure the quality and adequacy of care and services received by residents in Oregon long-term care nursing facilities
- Monitor changes in federal and state regulations affecting nursing facility care standards
- Develop and provide training for Client Care Surveyors on survey updates and trends
- Analyze data and recommend actions to NFSU management based on identified trends
- Conduct proficiency reviews for surveyors and revise training programs based on results
- Plan, develop, and deliver training programs covering professional and clinical skills and federal training requirements
- Coordinate statewide surveyor training conferences with outside clinical and survey professionals
- Provide written clarification on complex survey processes and regulatory interpretations
- Provide technical assistance on educational materials, survey processes, and regulatory requirements
- Evaluate and report on training-program effectiveness at individual and statewide levels
- Review and analyze reports for defensibility and quality and make recommendations
- Coordinate with NFSU management, professionals, support staff, APD, agency, and AAA staff
- Participate in staff field activities, learning experiences, and projects requested by Department management
- Travel frequently in-state, including overnight stays, to facilities, meetings, and trainings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Seven years of professional-level evaluative, analytical, and planning work experience, or qualifying education substitutions
- Associate degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, Finance, Political Science, or similar degree substitutes for 18 months of experience
- Bachelor's degree in a listed field substitutes for three years of experience
- Master's degree in a listed field substitutes for four years of experience
- Doctorate degree in a listed field substitutes for five years of experience
- Experience developing and/or providing training to adult learners in a training environment
- Experience applying and analyzing regulations in long-term care settings
- Experience evaluating job proficiency and making associated training/development recommendations
- Cover letter describing how the candidate meets the essential and requested attributes
- Criminal history and background check required for finalists
- Authorization to work in the United States; ODHS does not offer visa sponsorship
- Ability to complete the U.S. Department of Homeland Security I-9 form within three days of hire
- SMQT certification listed as a requested attribute
