About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Connect communities with the Oregon Health Authority and help Oregonians access the Oregon Health Plan
- Serve Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson Counties by building and strengthening community partner relationships
- Identify organizations to participate in the program
- Provide ongoing support to partners serving underserved and under-resourced communities
- Organize and facilitate informational sessions, trainings, community forums, and presentations
- Present on Oregon Health Plan, health care access, Social Determinants of Health, Medicaid policy, and related topics
- Provide technical assistance to community partners
- Monitor grant activities and outcomes
- Identify and address challenges
- Coordinate outreach efforts to ensure access to effective services
- Represent OHA with community leaders, health care providers, Coordinated Care Organizations, Federally Qualified Health Centers, schools, local governments, and other stakeholders
- Communicate regularly with community partners, OHA and DHS staff, health care providers, and Oregonians
- Conduct regional and statewide field outreach and travel
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program, and two years of experience coordinating or administering a program
- OR any combination of experience or education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements
- Demonstrated experience conducting community outreach, engagement, education, or relationship-building activities
- Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining, or coordinating community partnerships
- Demonstrated experience delivering presentations, trainings, informational sessions, workshops, or community forums
- Demonstrated experience with health care programs, Medicaid, Oregon Health Plan, public benefits, health insurance, or complex health care/social service systems
- Demonstrated experience coordinating programs, projects, or community initiatives
- Demonstrated experience providing technical assistance, guidance, or problem-solving support
- Demonstrated experience monitoring grants, contracts, funded programs, expenditures, performance measures, compliance requirements, or project outcomes
- Demonstrated experience with health equity and culturally responsive engagement
- Demonstrated experience in regional, field-based, or mobile roles requiring frequent travel
- Spanish language skills are desired; preference may be given beyond basic conversational proficiency
- Extensive regional and statewide travel, occasional overnight and out-of-state travel, and evening/weekend work when needed
- Employment contingent upon a criminal records check meeting OHA criteria
- Must complete I-9 documentation and confirm authorization to work in the United States within three days of hire
