About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform audits of applications from the workers' compensation insurance industry
  • Authorize reimbursement from Department of Consumer and Business Services reimbursement programs within the Workers' Benefit Fund
  • Interpret and apply statute, rule and bulletin requirements when auditing applications from insurers and self-insured employers
  • Determine the validity and accuracy of payment calculations and authorize reimbursement
  • Provide written and verbal expertise and assistance to insurance industry personnel, employers, injured workers, attorneys, and other interested parties
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of audits
  • Coordinate assigned reimbursement programs, including audit preparation, work distribution, and training not requiring supervisory oversight

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Four years of experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action, or decide compliance with program guidelines and regulations
  • Two of the four years must be above the technical support level
  • College-level coursework may substitute for experience at 45 quarter units per year, up to a maximum of three years
  • Math and basic bookkeeping skills
  • Experience with data entry
  • Strong letter and report writing skills
  • Experience researching and comprehending rules, regulations and statutes as they apply to various programs
  • Experience communicating with a variety of internal and external customers
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Resume and cover letter required
  • Must complete a fingerprint background check for job-related convictions
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; DCBS does not offer visa sponsorship
