About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide support to the Budget Planning and Analysis Unit
- Perform budget analysis activities, project management, budget monitoring, and related activities
- Support budget development and complex forecasting of cost impacts
- Evaluate expenditures against budgets to ensure programs have sufficient revenues
- Participate in policy strategy development and analyze financial impacts of proposed policies
- Provide data to agency, legislative, executive, governmental, and non-governmental officials
- Develop in-depth expertise on assigned programs and budgets
- Analyze budgets, programs, and proposals for potential impacts on eliminating health inequities by 2030
- Coordinate research for further policy consideration
- Prepare and deliver reports to executive leadership, legislators, and stakeholders
- Lead and coordinate complex cross-functional projects and multiple deliverables
Requirements
What you’ll need- Six years of progressively responsible experience including preparation, analysis, and administration of a budget or fiscal system
- Experience must include modeling and forecasting fiscal information
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Public or Non-Profit Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related degree may substitute for three years of required experience
- Graduate-level degree in a related area may substitute for four of the six years
- Advanced knowledge of budget processes, including developing, monitoring, and adjusting multi-program budgets
- Ability to prepare, maintain, and adjust expenditure and revenue models
- Expertise in analytic tools and large data sets
- Experience in forecasting, cost analysis, and evaluating financial data
- Experience investigating, identifying, and resolving financial data anomalies
- Ability to determine financial impacts of changes to state and federal statutes and regulations
- Ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects
- Ability to coordinate multiple customers, timelines, and deliverables
- Proficiency evaluating financial impacts of proposed policies
- Ability to communicate complex financial data to non-technical audiences
- Must complete a criminal records check meeting OHA criteria
- Must complete I-9 documentation and confirm authorization to work in the United States within three days of hire
