About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, develop, and retain a team of Cloud Infrastructure Engineers
  • Set goals, role expectations, and success criteria; conduct 1:1s, feedback, and performance reviews
  • Identify capability gaps and create hiring, upskilling, and cross-training plans
  • Establish automation and AI tooling as expected practices across the team
  • Support organization-wide Engineering hiring through technical interviews and calibration
  • Own operational health of AWS infrastructure, including provisioning, configuration management, patching, capacity planning, and cost optimization
  • Lead Terraform infrastructure-as-code practices and oversee Ansible Automation Platform operations
  • Ensure reliable operation of Active Directory, Windows Server, Windows RDS, Group Policy, OUs, service accounts, and gMSAs
  • Own certificate, DNS, domain, and Vault secrets lifecycle management
  • Oversee AWS services and standardize, document, and secure configurations
  • Operate Fortinet firewalls and NGINX Plus web tier, including routing, policies, SSL inspection, and VIP configuration
  • Maintain firmware and security-update discipline across network-facing systems
  • Integrate infrastructure automation with delivery pipelines and support release automation
  • Oversee deployment automation for containerized services, Lambda, ECS, and EKS workloads
  • Drive AI-assisted IaC, log analysis, anomaly detection, runbook generation, incident analysis, audit analysis, drift detection, capacity planning, and intelligent alerting
  • Lead observability, dashboards, alerting, log aggregation, and anomaly detection using New Relic, Datadog, CloudWatch, and related tools
  • Own on-call rotations, escalation paths, readiness standards, and incident response
  • Lead blameless post-incident reviews, root cause analyses, and corrective actions
  • Track availability, MTTR, change failure rate, and deployment frequency; report trends to the Director of DevOps
  • Oversee IAM, security groups, secrets, encryption, vulnerability patching, and compliance controls
  • Conduct infrastructure security assessments and drive remediation
  • Own least-privilege access governance and audit-ready records
  • Support SOC 2, ISO/IEC 27001, and NIST 800-53 audit readiness
  • Partner with Engineering, Security, Product, Engineering Systems, and Release Workflow teams
  • Represent DevOps in Engineering leadership forums
  • Manage cloud provider, monitoring, firewall/appliance, and licensing vendor relationships

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 6+ years of cloud infrastructure engineering experience
  • 2+ years in a management role with direct people-leadership accountability for a DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering team
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing technical teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • Deep hands-on proficiency with AWS services including EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, Route 53, CloudFront, and Auto Scaling
  • Terraform required; AWS CDK is a plus
  • Hands-on production administration of Windows Server and Active Directory, including Group Policy, service accounts/gMSA, and identity management
  • Working knowledge of Fortinet or equivalent NGFW firewalls, NGINX or equivalent reverse proxy/load balancing, DNS, and certificate lifecycle management
  • Proficiency with Ansible/Ansible Automation Platform
  • Scripting in Python, PowerShell, and Bash
  • Experience with Docker, ECS, and EKS, including image build pipelines, registry management, and containerized deployment automation
  • Experience with New Relic, Datadog, CloudWatch, or SumoLogic
  • Demonstrated experience driving AI tool adoption within a DevOps or infrastructure engineering team
  • Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and on-call leadership skills
  • Preferred: AWS associate/professional certification; HashiCorp Vault; Azure DevOps Pipelines and/or GitHub Actions; SRE practices; Temporal or AWS Step Functions; ELK, Graylog, or Fluent; SOC 2, NIST 800-53, or ISO/IEC 27001 compliance; AI-native infrastructure intelligence tools
