About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, develop, and retain the DevOps engineering team responsible for the developer platform and delivery automation
  • Own CI/CD build and deployment pipelines, shared templates, service-layer Terraform, EKS, golden paths, application connectivity, service data stores, environment promotion, and AI tooling
  • Define and improve the end-to-end self-service path from service creation through production deployment
  • Oversee Terraform-based infrastructure-as-code quality, versioning, peer review, deployment, and cost efficiency
  • Enforce pipeline, repository, image, naming, secrets, Kubernetes, and hostname standards
  • Own Azure DevOps build and deployment pipelines, environment gates, immutable image promotion, and release-team enablement
  • Oversee EKS add-ons, workload identity, namespaces, NetworkPolicies, Helm support, and multi-environment service onboarding
  • Manage deployment automation for containerized services, Lambda functions, ECS tasks, and EKS workloads
  • Own API Gateway, authorizers, DNS, ACM certificates, ExternalDNS, application S3, SSM, Secrets Manager, and Aurora/RDS provisioning
  • Drive adoption and operation of AI tooling for IaC, pipeline authoring, scripting, log analysis, anomaly detection, runbooks, and incident analysis
  • Lead service observability wiring, delivery-path incident response, blameless post-incident reviews, root cause analyses, and corrective actions
  • Track deployment frequency, change failure rate, lead time, and mean time to recovery; report trends to the Director of DevOps
  • Ensure security, access management, audit readiness, and evidence collection for SOC 2, ISO/IEC 27001, and NIST 800-53
  • Partner with Engineering, Release, SRE, Cloud Infrastructure, Application Security, and Engineering Systems teams
  • Represent DevOps in leadership forums and manage relevant vendor and tooling relationships

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 6+ years of DevOps, platform, or cloud infrastructure engineering experience
  • 2+ years in a management role with direct people-leadership accountability for a DevOps or platform engineering team
  • Experience leading and developing technical teams, hiring, coaching, performance management, and building a high-performance culture
  • Deep hands-on proficiency with AWS services including ECS, Fargate, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, ALB/NLB, S3, RDS, IAM, and Route 53
  • Terraform required, with ability to review and guide service-layer infrastructure-as-code
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps Pipelines and/or GitHub Actions, reusable templates, and environment-gated promotion
  • Experience with Docker, ECS, EKS, image build pipelines, registry management, and Kubernetes workload identity through Pod Identity or IRSA
  • Experience with API Gateway, Lambda authorizers, and AWS service-to-service connectivity patterns
  • Proficiency with Ansible and scripting in Python, PowerShell, and Bash
  • Experience wiring services into New Relic, Datadog, or CloudWatch observability
  • Experience driving AI tool adoption in a DevOps or platform engineering team
  • Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and on-call leadership skills
  • Preferred: AWS associate- or professional-level certification
  • Preferred: experience with self-service developer platforms, Kubernetes platform engineering, Helm, ExternalDNS, Terraform Cloud/HCP, SRE practices, workflow orchestration, compliance frameworks, and AI-native developer productivity tools
