About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a caseload of general liability defense and construction defect litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Develop and execute litigation strategies tailored to each case
- Conduct and defend depositions, hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Analyze claims, defenses, liability issues, damages, and case exposure
- Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, experts, and other stakeholders
- Proactively manage deadlines, discovery, negotiations, and litigation strategy
- Prepare cases for trial and participate in trial-related activities
- Exercise sound legal judgment while maintaining high standards of client service and advocacy
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of civil litigation experience
- Active Florida Bar license in good standing
- Experience with general liability defense and third-party matters strongly preferred
- Construction defect litigation experience highly valued
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage litigation matters independently and proactively
- Strong attention to detail, organization, professionalism, and client-service skills
- Approximately 2+ to 15 years of experience generally targeted
- Early to mid-career attorneys encouraged to apply
- Meaningful tenure and progression with prior firms preferred
- In-house and solo-practice backgrounds generally less preferred
