About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise construction of geothermal power plants at various installation locations
  • Provide mechanical industrial construction expertise
  • Develop work plans and track construction progress
  • Review and implement mechanical design drawings and specifications
  • Assist with project scheduling and evaluations for third-party contract bid development
  • Ensure quality assurance of all mechanical installations
  • Manage multiple high-complexity tasks
  • Supervise mechanical construction crews, including company employees and subcontractors
  • Oversee formal planning, tracking, and reporting
  • Participate in contractor and subcontractor bidding, including bid review and assessment
  • Respond to construction organization needs
  • Support local permitting and regulatory activities
  • Implement applicable mechanical, safety, and environmental codes and regulations during project execution
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in construction management
  • Ability to take initiative and be accountable for individual and team results
  • Ability to understand procedures and instructions
  • Ability to motivate self and others to set and achieve high performance standards
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English at a level that permits safe and efficient performance of job duties
  • Ability to use and acquire knowledge of computer software applications for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and use of the Internet
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record applicable to Ormat's Safe Driving policy
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds periodically
  • Ability to navigate and work in remote field locations and outdoors in difficult weather conditions
  • Ability to walk, hike, and work on steep, rough terrain for extended periods
  • Ability to safely operate 4WD light vehicles on highways and off-road
  • Ability to frequently climb ladders and work from elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways
  • Must wear protective equipment and fire-retardant clothing when required
  • Must be able to work weekends and/or holidays when necessary
  • Must be able to work overtime as required
  • Must be able to travel extensively, including internationally and to rural areas, sometimes with extended periods away from home
