About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, support, and continuously improve enterprise DevSecOps platforms and services
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments in hybrid and Azure cloud environments
- Implement and enhance application security capabilities, including SAST, SCA, DAST, vulnerability management, secrets management, and software supply chain security
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, and automation solutions
- Support deployment and operation of containerized and cloud-native applications
- Develop and adopt engineering standards, reusable deployment patterns, and secure software development practices
- Collaborate with architecture, security, infrastructure, development, and platform teams
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across applications, infrastructure, networking, identity, security, and cloud services
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to developer experience, security, reliability, and operational efficiency
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, documentation, training, and guidance to software and DevSecOps engineers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree and 8 or more years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Must pass pre-employment background check
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening
- REAL ID Act-compliant documentation at time of hire
- Nothing on record that would prohibit access to Department of Energy sites
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Clearance
- Significant experience designing, implementing, and supporting DevOps, DevSecOps, software delivery, platform engineering, or infrastructure automation solutions
- Experience leading complex technical initiatives involving multiple systems, technologies, and stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of software development practices, SSDLC principles, CI/CD, automation, cloud technologies, and application security
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and mentoring skills
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and staff, affiliated-company employees, and outside business associates
- Ability to work under pressure and independently prioritize workload across multiple projects
- Ability to research, organize, and analyze technical information with accuracy and attention to detail
- Sufficient fine motor skills for computer and calculator use and extended repetitive keyboarding
- Adequate visual and communications ability to perform essential job functions
- Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Enterprise
- Preferred: Relevant certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-204, AZ-400, AZ-500, or equivalent industry certifications
- Preferred: Experience implementing application security programs, including SAST, SCA, DAST, SBOM, secrets scanning, and supply chain security
- Preferred: Experience with Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Bicep/ARM, or similar automation technologies
- Preferred: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container-based application delivery
- Preferred: Experience operating within regulated, government, or high-compliance environments
- Preferred: Knowledge of identity and access management, observability, monitoring, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks
- Preferred: Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Preferred: REAL ID Act-compliant identification at time of hire
- Preferred: Ability to obtain a Department of Energy access badge
