About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead technical efforts to build reliable and maintainable applications, infrastructure, and interfaces that simplify interaction with the health care system
Become the expert on the team's business and technical domains, including DevOps, site reliability, and cloud best practices
Lead the planning, execution, and release of complex technical projects across multiple teams
Collaborate with partners, product managers, and designers to solve challenging problems
Lead and mentor engineers to improve technology and apply best practices
Own large or complex technology capabilities across one or multiple domains
Facilitate cross-team execution and collaboration, mitigating project risks to deliver on time
Contribute to functional-group and organization-wide projects
Drive technical roadmap prioritization and influence product roadmap and process enhancements
Identify and reduce failure domains, design resilient systems, and reduce outage impacts
Build software that minimizes maintenance effort and business impact during failures
Guide development of Service-Level Objectives for responsible systems
Own medium to large features or infrastructure projects from technical design through completion
Comply with applicable laws and regulations
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

6+ years of professional software engineering experience
Experience working with a variety of technologies and increasingly impactful accomplishments
Experience as a major contributor to cross-pod or cross-company deliverables
Experience leading technical contributions and improving team output quality
Experience building fault-tolerant and scalable software systems
Expertise in the practical application of computer science concepts
Ability to write stable, correct, and maintainable code
Experience mentoring and training more junior engineers
Deep expertise managing production environments within AWS or GCP at scale
Advanced experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
Proven experience with Kubernetes and ArgoCD workflows
Strong Site Reliability Engineering background, including SLOs, error budgets, and incident management
Experience building deployment pipelines via GitHub Actions
Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Prometheus or Grafana
Knowledge of cloud-native security, IAM, VPC peering, and service mesh technologies such as Istio
Understanding of at least one coding language for developing scripts and software
B.S. in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent high-level industry experience
