About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and develop scalable, high-performance, low-latency backend services using Java and AWS technologies
- Collaborate with product management, frontend, and QA teams to define technical requirements and ensure smooth platform integration
- Optimize and enhance existing services for performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Identify and resolve system bottlenecks and ensure optimal resource utilization and stability
- Implement code quality, testing, deployment, CI/CD, and agile development best practices
- Monitor backend service health and performance and mitigate potential issues
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Build and maintain core infrastructure powering Oscilar's SaaS platform for fraud, credit, and compliance risk decisioning
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in backend software development, with a focus on Java and AWS technologies
- Strong experience in building and operating low latency, high scale services in a distributed environment
- Proficient in Java programming, with a deep understanding of its ecosystem and related frameworks
- Knowledge of microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and ClickHouse
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and security best practices
- Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Git, Maven, and Gradle
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 8+ years of Backend experience with Java in large-scale, distributed environments
- Strong experience with AWS services such as MSK, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, and Lambda
- Solid understanding of distributed system design, messaging patterns, and eventual consistency
- Legally authorized in the country of the position
