About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with senior leaders and managers to align HR strategies and initiatives with business objectives
Advise business stakeholders on HR matters and organizational effectiveness
Identify HR trends, issues, opportunities, challenges, and risks
Support and drive employee engagement initiatives and help maintain a strong employee experience culture
Ensure compliance with Portuguese labour laws and regulations
Advise on employment contracts, working hours, leave, and other legal requirements
Monitor changes in labour legislation and communicate updates
Develop, implement, and review HR policies, procedures, and guidelines
Educate employees and managers on HR policies and ensure adherence
Conduct audits to assess policy compliance and identify improvements
Handle employee relations matters, conflict resolution, workplace investigations, complaints, and concerns
Mediate disputes and facilitate communication between employees and managers
Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends and improvement areas
Prepare and present HR reports with insights and recommendations for management

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
Extensive experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist, with a focus on Portuguese labour law and corrective action processes
Strong knowledge of Portuguese labour legislation, employment contracts, disciplinary procedures, and workplace compliance requirements
Proven experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive insights and support decision-making
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
Fluency in English is essential
