About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Turn industrial and product design CAD into fixtures, jigs, and manufacturing stations that enable Oura Ring production at scale
- Own fixture and station design from concept through validation and mass production across all 10 ring sizes
- Define part and fixture datums, locating and constraint schemes, no-contact and cosmetic zones, and size-family strategies
- Drive machine and station renderings covering line layout, operator ergonomics, part flow, guarding, size changeover, and automation variants
- Maintain the fixture and station CAD library and datum scheme documentation
- Participate in DFM and DFA reviews with industrial design, product design, and contract manufacturers
- Support station buy-off and process qualification with Process Engineering, owning fixture and station acceptance criteria
- Work with the design studio and prototype workshop during concept phases and at the NPI site during build events
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years in fixture, tooling, automation, or manufacturing design engineering for precision consumer hardware, wearables, medical devices, or optics
- BS or MS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Product Design Engineering, or an equivalent design or engineering background
- Has designed fixtures, jigs, carriers, and stations that shipped into a contract manufacturer and ran at mass production scale, including config or variant changeover
- Deep passion and CAD (SolidWorks or NX) experience with strong surfacing skills for working from industrial and product design geometry
- Strong GD&T and datum scheme design; able to build and defend tolerance stack-ups that include fixture and process contributors
- Experience selecting fixture materials and surface treatments for contact with glass, ceramic, titanium, and flexible circuits
- Rapid prototyping skills (3D printing, basic machining) and comfort in a workshop
- Able to read and challenge vendor DFMs and measurement reports (CMM, optical) and to run a DFM loop to closure
- Comfort on a factory floor, in a lab, and in a design studio. This role requires physical presence where the work happens.
- Willingness to travel up to 30 percent, including internationally to manufacturing partner sites in Asia
