About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead holistic user research initiatives spanning digital commerce and enterprise portals, from initial scoping through strategic actionable guidance
- Design and execute user interviews, usability evaluations, concept testing, card sorting, and other qualitative evaluation techniques
- Collaborate with Design, Product Management, Engineering, Insights, Marketing, and Commercial partners to identify research priorities
- Synthesize research into journey maps, entry point analysis, Jobs to Be Done, page-level goals, and friction mapping
- Evaluate user experiences using qualitative findings, analytics metrics, experimentation outcomes, and heuristic standards
- Present themes to leadership, connecting customer motivations with business and product metrics
- Improve internal research operations through scalable frameworks, standardized templates, and lightweight workflows
- Initially focus on the global DTC eCommerce experience, with opportunities to support Membership and Commercial/B2B experiences
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of dedicated user research practice, showcasing a proven history of guiding end-to-end studies that directly shape product strategy
- Proven background evaluating digital commerce platforms alongside B2B, enterprise, SaaS, or complex web applications
- Exceptional qualitative research mastery—specifically in-depth interviews, usability studies, core synthesis, and distilling key insights responsibly from small user cohorts
- Skillfully leverages cutting-edge AI tools for participant recruitment, session moderation, transcript analysis, research repositories, and knowledge sharing, while maintaining rigorous data privacy, ethics, and study integrity standards
- Deep expertise in customer journey mapping, Jobs to Be Done, page-level objective definitions, heuristic reviews, and comprehensive experience audits
- Ability to unify qualitative insights with quantitative metrics, telemetry, and experiment results
- Outstanding workshop facilitation and communication abilities across executive leadership and cross-functional teams
- Practical exposure to centralized research repositories, behavioral analytics suites, experimentation tools, and scalable research operations
- Track record of establishing or scaling a high-impact research function within rapidly expanding organizations or agile startup environments
- Co-authored with Glean
- Experience researching health, wellness, digital health, healthcare, or wearable technology products (nice to have)
- Experience working across international markets and diverse user groups (nice to have)
- Candidates must reside in the United States; candidates residing in Alaska, Delaware, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wisconsin are not considered
