About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and develop cutting-edge wearable and consumer devices, including electrical architecture, schematic design, and integration into PCBs, flexes, and other technologies
- Define, own, and execute rapid prototyping efforts using off-the-shelf and custom hardware
- Conduct testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems against performance and safety standards
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to develop test plans
- Work with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical components into product physical designs
- Collaborate with firmware engineers on embedded systems and software-hardware compatibility
- Create scripts and tools for bring-up, testing, and profiling
- Work with leadership to define and refine product roadmaps and timelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of experience designing and shipping high volume consumer electronics as an HW Systems Integrator
- Experience with ultra low power microprocessors, SoCs, MEMS sensors, and wireless charging technologies
- Experience designing and validating custom analog and digital circuits and systems, including component selection and signal processing
- Proficiency with communication protocols including UART, I2C, MIPI, SPI, DSI, and others
- Experience scripting basic functions and automating testing alongside firmware engineers
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout software such as Altium or KiCad
- Hands-on experience building rapid prototypes and validating electrical and signal performance using rework equipment, DMMs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and power analyzers
- Ability to design, release, and bring up custom quick-turn PCBs
- Detailed experience designing, building, and testing high-density PCBs, flexes, batteries, and sensing modules from concept to production
- Experience working with CMs/JDMs to design and manufacture high-precision, high-quality products
- Ability to drive tasks independently and provide technical leadership and mentoring
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and contribute to project planning and documentation
- Nice to have: experience with connected wearables, health and optical sensing, audio, and small form-factor products
- Nice to have: ability to travel overseas to Europe and Asia several times a year
- Nice to have: familiarity with BLE, BT, WiFi, NFC, 802.15.4, and 3D printing/mechanical fabrication
