About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the backlog for Ovative’s AI platform and client-facing product work
- Identify high-value problems, translate them into executable work, and sequence releases
- Set the roadmap, decide priorities, and communicate the reasoning to stakeholders
- Translate program objectives into user stories with acceptance criteria covering business value, technical constraints, governance, data models, MCP/tool exposure, agent behavior, and evaluation criteria
- Collaborate with AI Engineers and Data Engineers to clarify requirements and make scope, data input, tool boundary, and acceptance decisions
- Make delivery tradeoff decisions across scope, sequencing, and technical constraints
- Accept or reject completed stories against acceptance criteria, Definition of Done, agent evaluations, and human-in-the-loop requirements
- Ensure agents and tools have owners, automation tiers, access and identity models, and documented review paths
- Run team ceremonies as Scrum Lead, including standups, refinement, retrospectives, sprint planning, and demos
- Own and prioritize the AI platform backlog across operational data, MCP/tooling, retrieval, agent builds, and enablement
- Define and manage intake for AI build requests and route requests to self-service, rapid client-specific builds, or the platform roadmap
- Drive story readiness and identify problem framing, acceptance criteria, data dependencies, and security questions
- Champion MVP and iterative delivery using mirror, validate, invert patterns
- Define agent quality measures and partner on evaluation sets, regression checks, and validation
- Coordinate with AI engineering, data products, platform, IT, Security, functional leaders, and client teams
- Communicate progress and outcomes to executive sponsors and functional leadership
- Own product-facing documentation, build patterns, and reusable Confluence assets
- Lead user discovery, shadowing, and feedback loops across media, measurement, creative, and operations
- Ensure roadmap work is tied to observed user problems, named owners, and measurable outcomes
- Track adoption through usage, abandonment, and workflow change
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, business analysis, or a related role
- At least 2 years focused on technical, data, or platform products
- Proven success owning a technical product backlog and leading delivery in an agile environment
- Experience with sprint planning, refinement, cross-team dependency management, and release sequencing
- Ability to make and communicate independent prioritization decisions and tradeoffs under pressure and capacity constraints
- Experience working with engineering and data teams on APIs, data pipelines, schemas, and integration boundaries
- Working fluency with LLMs, retrieval, tool use and function calling, agent design, and practical AI limitations
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and creating structure, documentation, and decision anchors
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, problem-solving, cost-benefit analysis, prioritization, and scope negotiation skills
- Ability to translate technical work into clear business impact
- Excellent communication, executive communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Experience with Atlassian tools including Confluence and Jira
- Preferred: experience building internal platforms or enablement products
- Preferred: familiarity with MCP, agent frameworks, or orchestration tooling
- Preferred: exposure to Databricks, Unity Catalog, BigQuery, data contracts, catalog, or lineage practices
- Preferred: understanding of AI governance and security requirements
- Preferred: background in marketing, media, or analytics services
- Preferred: experience with intake, triage, or request management processes
- Preferred: experience with AI evaluation and quality practices
