About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and own the QA strategy, including comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automated/manual testing strategies
- Lead exploratory, functional, and regression testing for newly released features before production
- Partner with Product Engineers to review test plans and ensure coverage across unit, integration, and E2E testing
- Conduct regular production sweeps and smoke tests to ensure critical donor and nonprofit flows function correctly
- Advocate for user experience by identifying edge cases, usability issues, and inconsistencies
- Guide expansion of test automation coverage using frameworks such as Cypress
- Run automation suites, analyze failures, and contribute to writing and maintaining tests
- Identify, document, track, and verify resolution of bugs and defects
- Test and validate APIs for data integrity, performance, and security
- Participate in planning and design reviews to identify risks and define acceptance criteria across the SDLC
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of industry experience in a Quality Assurance or Software Test Engineer role
- Proficient in developing test plans and test cases from product requirements and design specifications
- Deep understanding of manual and exploratory testing techniques
- Comfortable working with test automation frameworks such as Cypress and Jest; able to read, modify, and run tests
- Experience testing RESTful APIs and using tools such as Postman or Insomnia
- Expert with bug tracking tools such as Jira/Linear and version control systems such as GitLab
- Strong understanding of the SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, and agile methodologies
- Keen eye for detail, strong user empathy, and passion for finding elusive bugs
- Excellent communication skills for articulating bugs, test results, and quality risks
- Must be able to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
