About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead teams building the core product platform for an edge-enabled AI vision system used in manufacturing quality control
Own and execute the technical roadmap for core products
Work with product and engineering leadership to create a sequenced execution plan
Own release processes, including sprint cadence, branching and release structure, GitHub Actions test gates, and regression prevention
Define and improve performance, memory behavior, startup time, long-run stability, and graceful degradation
Speak directly with customers and convert field feedback into engineering priorities and product fixes
Triage customer issues and protect engineering focus
Set hiring standards, run interview loops, and develop team engineers
Collaborate with embedded engineering and AI/ML teams in a 24/7 mission-critical manufacturing environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience leading software engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
Strong record shipping product-oriented software
Deep experience in one area of the stack: React, Python, or Go
Fluency sufficient in the other listed technologies to review work
Experience driving reliability and troubleshooting failures after days of continuous runtime
Experience building release structure and sprint cadence
Strong instincts about user interfaces and operator usability
Interest in physical AI and real-world manufacturing applications
Professional-level Mandarin and English
Preferred: Experience with applications and software running on edge hardware
Preferred: Experience working with AI/ML pipelines
